Worldwide shipments of PC computers continue to decline as our society migrates more and more towards a MOBILE dominated world. According to a recent study (by market researcher Gartner found here), worldwide PC shipments declined by 9.6 percent in the first quarter of 2016.

So what does this mean for your healthcare practice?
It means that the majority of both your NEW + existing patients will be communicating with you via their mobile phones. Knowing this, you’ll want to make it as simple as possible for them to get the information they are looking for on their phone to deliver a pleasurable user experience.
Sounds easy, however most of the healthcare market is still dropping the ball and playing catch up!
The good news is, if you jump on this stuff early, you can position your team as the clear dominant leader in your local area.
Here are 3 of the MOST IMPORTANT things you need:
- Your website NEEDS to be mobile responsive (mobile optimized) + built to rank on Google. Check out this recent Q1 2016 article by TechCrunch titled: “Google’s latest mobile search algorithm update makes having a mobile-friendly site even more important” (click here to read).
Now if your website is not mobile responsive your practice will be penalized. - Proactively ASK your patients to review you on Google/Yelp/Facebook via SMS text message. Preferably, ask them if you can send them a text message while they are waiting to be treated in your reception area (10x response rates by giving them something to do while they are VISITING YOUR PRACTICE vs. at home in their own world). 92% of online reviews are now coming via mobile phones.
- Make sure you are sending out consistent content to your patients that is EASY TO READ ON MOBILE via social media, email & your blog. Send your content twice every week on social media & at least once monthly for email/blogging. Make sure your blog & email are easy to read on mobile devices (for social media, Facebook handles mobile optimization for you). This will help you stay in front of your patients with“top of mind” awareness while adding value to their day with quick + informal health tips.
Obviously there are a lot more, but these are the top 3 ways you can stay ahead of the mobile movement as it continues to take over our world.
